Picture Post #4

Unfortunately, we were prevented--again--from walking into the village because of the afternoon thunderstorms.  Even now, it's threatening to storm again.  But we were able to sneak a peak at the famous goat farm that Paul and Linda run here.

As you may recall from previous trips, this farm was recognized by the President of the Dominican Republic in 2003 for excellence in agriculture.  The goat farm has had a tremendous impact on both the nutrition and economy of Juan Tomas.

This the rear view of Paul and Linda's house. It backs up to the goat farm. The door on the far left is where I'm currently seated as I write this blog.

Dean and Tyler wanted the intensive version of Linda's goat science.

As the tour winds down, the storm clouds roll in.
This picture was taken earlier in the afternoon--before the clouds rolled in--but it captures the rear view of the guys' cabin. Every morning at 4am we are awakened by the sound of the goat farmers as they come in for the morning milking.
