Picture Post #5

We are praising God that Anna is feeling better!  Ethan got over the dehydration pretty quickly, but Anna battled stomach issues for a couple of days.  Unfortunately, it's pretty common for people to struggle with feeling sick for 24-48 hours on these trips.

After talking it over with Anna and the team leaders, we decided that it would be best for her to rest here in Juan Tomas yesterday (with Dawn Kemp and Dr. Lisa).  The rest of the team went into the city (Santo Domingo) for church in the morning.  After a delicious pizza lunch, and a fascinating tour of the historical sites in Santo Domingo, we returned to Juan Tomas for the evening worship service.  When we arrived back in the village, we were thrilled to learn that Lord had answered our prayers, and that Anna was feeling much better.

I'm thankful as well, because the Lord blessed our time worshiping in the city in the morning and also in the village (Juan Tomas) in the evening.  I had the opportunity to preach during the evening service, and I am thankful to the Lord for blessing me as I preached to the congregation.

Please continue to lift us up in prayer.  We currently have several teams wrapping up painting jobs here at the school.  We also have a team (including Anna!) organizing books in the library.  But our largest team is in the village mixing concrete and installing a floor for one of the workers on the goat farm.

Please pray that our team would finish the trip well.  It will be tempting today and tomorrow to lose sight of our objective and to begin thinking about our lives back home.  Our hope, however, is that God would use each of us to encourage our brothers and sisters in Juan Tomas for the entire duration of our trip!

Finally, join us in praising the Lord for blessing our time of team devotions.  It is evident that the Lord is using our time in his Word (1 John) each morning to build us up spiritually.  We have team members that are asking wonderful and important questions... and so we are asking the Lord to continue blessing us as we daily feed upon the truth of his Word.

We love you all very much.  The Lord has been so good and gracious to us.  In his mercy and generosity, he is blessing us spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
