VBS a Smashing Success

After multiple rainy days and a shortened work week (due to Doug Diehl leaving early for his anniversary :-) we finally had the opportunity today (Saturday) to host a VBS for the village children of Juan Tomas.  We spent the morning touring the village and sharing about the VBS to come in the afternoon.

Initially, we were all a bit concerned when an hour had past and only a handful of children had shown up.  But God was truly faithful, and in the end we had approximately 60 village children singing praise songs and coloring pictures of the Christmas story.

Mary Moser was excellent at presenting Bible stories to the children in Spanish and many of our young ladies did a wonderful job of depicting various scenes from the Bible... Annika as an angel, Molly W as a tree, Annie as the serpent, Molly H as a shepherd, and Bailey as a surprisingly realistic sheep were just some of the highlights.

Much more could be said, but we have to prepare for a special dinner tonight with the young people in the church.  However, we wouldn't want to sign off without sharing a couple of pictures from our day today.
